With landscapes that range from archetypal tropical beaches to lush pastureland to volcanic peaks, and with wildly different cultural influences from Africa, the Americas, and Europe, we try to show the most exotic destinations in the world. Beautiful beaches, dramatic landscapes are our objetives. Enjoy !!! CRETE BEACHES ![]() Elafonisi Beach: a well-kept secret known to very few locals on Crete Elafonisi beach, located on the southwest coast of Crete, Greece, about 75 km from Chania, is famous for its white sand with pinkish hues and shallow turquoise waters, making it a paradisiacal destination nicknamed the “Caribbean of the Mediterranean”. The pink sand, the result of crushed shells and corals, varies in intensity according to the tide, season and weather, being more visible on the shore. Sometimes connected by a strip of sand to a small island, which is a protected nature reserve part of the Natura 2000 network, it is home to more than 100 species of rare plants, such as marine daffodils, and loggerhead turtles that nest there. It is ideal for families due to its shallow depth and offers activities such as snorkeling, windsurfing and kitesurfing. The main beach has services such as umbrella and hammock rental (20 €), bathrooms, showers and small canteens, although the facilities are limited to preserve its natural character. It is forbidden to collect sand, pull up plants or disturb the fauna. Below, I detail its features, attractions, and why it is such a popular destination, based on recent information and its relevance in travel trends. Praia da Falésia Details. Location: Located in the municipality of Albufeira, in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. It stretches between the towns of Vilamoura and Olhos de Água, with easy access from Faro (approximately 30-40 minutes by car). Physical Characteristics: Length: Approximately 6 km of continuous beach, one of the longest in the Algarve. Sand: Soft golden sand, ideal for walking and sunbathing. Cliffs: Its hallmark are the spectacular reddish and orange cliffs that border the beach, creating a unique visual contrast with the blue of the Atlantic. These cliffs reach up to 40 meters high in some areas. Water: Crystal clear and calm waters, with moderate temperatures (18-22°C in summer), suitable for swimming and water sports. Main Attractions: Scenic Beauty: The cliffs eroded by the wind and sea, along with the green pine trees at the top, make this beach a photogenic place, widely shared on social networks such as X. Hiking: A trail at the top of the cliffs offers panoramic views and connects different access points to the beach. It is ideal for sunset hikes. Atmosphere: Combines lively areas with bars and restaurants near Olhos de Água and quieter areas towards Vilamoura, perfect for relaxing. Activities: Snorkeling, paddleboarding, and guided walks along the cliffs. Although not a surfing beach due to its gentle waves, it is ideal for families and couples. Facilities and Services: Access: Stairs and ramps from the cliffs provide easy access to the beach, although some areas require some walking. Services: Areas with umbrellas and sun loungers for rent, showers, restrooms, and lifeguards in high season (June-September). Restaurants and Bars: Near Olhos de Água and Vilamoura there are beach bars and restaurants with fresh seafood, such as grilled sardines and cataplana (typical Algarve stew). Parking: Ample parking lots at the top of the cliffs, although they can get crowded in summer. Why It's Trending: Recognition: 5th best beach in the world on TripAdvisor 2025, praised for its cleanliness and landscape. Social Media: Its aesthetics (cliffs, golden sand, clear waters) generates viral content on X with hashtags such as #PraiaDaFalesia or #Algarve. Sustainability: Blue flag for its environmental quality, an attraction for eco-travelers. Season: Busiest in summer (June-August), but spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) are ideal for the weather and fewer crowds. Tips for Visitors: Best Time: April-May or September-October to avoid crowds, with temperatures of 20-25°C. What to Bring: Sunscreen, hat, and comfortable shoes for the trails. Activities: Rent a paddleboard or hike at sunrise for unique photos. Lodging: Luxury hotels like Pine Cliffs Resort in Albufeira or budget apartments in Olhos de Água. Transportation: Renting a car is ideal; there are also buses from Albufeira or taxis/Uber from Faro. Fun Facts: "Falésia" means "cliff" in Portuguese, because of its rock formations. The cliffs are part of a protected ecosystem with pine trees and seabirds. It is a common location for photo shoots and advertising campaigns. THAILAND BEACHES Tropical haven in Thailand: Koh Chang Nestled in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Chang is a tropical haven known for its immaculate beaches, exotic marine life, dense jungles and mountainous terrain. Indeed, Thailand’s third largest island attracts a lot of foreign visitors, and while many of Koh Chang’s coastal villages are seeing a spike in tourism, large parts of the island remain untouched. As for its beaches, they vary dramatically in atmosphere, landscapes and backdrop. On an island as wildly diverse as Koh Chang, you can find beaches with each offering differing landscapes and atmospheres. Here are the 5 most charming beaches in Koh Chang: White Sand Beach (Hat Sai Khao) Kai Bae Beach Lonely Beach (Hat Tha Nam) Klong Prao Beach Long Beach (Hat Sai Yao) MIAMI BEACH Miami Beach in Florida features a diverse selection of beaches. BRAZIL BEACHES Angra dos Reis, Rio: Lopes Mendes beach ![]() Voted one of the top '10 Most Beautiful Beaches in the World' by Vogue magazine, Lopes Mendes is a remote, hidden beach that's not easy to get to, but if you’re looking for seclusion and spectacular beauty, you won't mind the steep and muddy 20-minute trek from the village of Palmas on Ilha Grande. Your reward will be a two-mile, crescent beach with some of the whitest, finest sand stretching out to waters that are a striking iridescent blue. There are no facilities of any kind in sight or trees for shade, so bring plenty of sunscreen along with food and drink. CURAÇAO CARIBBEAN Curaçao: Hotel Resort Kurá Hulanda Curaçao, off the coast of Venezuela, was a major Caribbean port for the slave trade some 200 years ago. One of the chief slave markets was in Willemstad's Otrobanda district, a neighborhood of twisting alleys and distinctive façades that languished after the trade came to an end. Intrigued by the architecture and history, the dutch entrepreneur Jacob Dekker purchased a crumbling 19th-century mansion built by a wealthy Dutch family. He then acquired and restored several dozen derelict buildings; on vacant lots in the surrounding blocks, Dekker added 35 new structures reflecting the aesthetic of the Otrobanda. They are the heart of Project Kurá Hulanda, comprising a museum of African art, a research institute that focuses on the African diaspora, and a Dutch Colonial-style resort with 67 guest rooms, two pools, five restaurants, and stately courtyards throughout -Kurá Hulanda is island dialect for "Dutch courtyard." The cobblestones and freshly plastered walls, in fact, may seem a little too perfect, but with them Dekker has created an enduring testament to the power of regeneration. GREECE BEACHES Relaxing beaches in Greece Paleohóri, Mílos Triple strand with a naturist zone, steam vents and rock overhangs for shade. Falásarna, Crete Close to a tropical fantasy: successive crescents of fine yellow sand, gently shelving turquoise water, and an ancient city to explore. Livádhi Yeranoú, Pátmos Swim out to Áyios Yeóryios islet, then lounge under the line of tamarisks or head for the excellent taverna. Megálo Seïtáni, Sámos You have to walk or water-taxi to this huge, sandy beach in a nature reserve; monk seals are occasionally seen nearby. Yialós, Lefkádha A stunning, deserted coarse-sand beach on the island's west coast. CRETE BEACHES Haniá beaches, Crete Haniá's beaches all lie to the west of the city. For the crowded but clean city beach this means no more than a ten-minute walk, following the shoreline from the Naval Museum, but for more extensive spaces you're better off taking the local bus (#21) out along the coast road. This leaves from the east side of Platía 1866 and runs along the coast as far as Kalamáki beach. Kalamáki and the previous stop, Oásis beach, are again pretty crowded but they're a considerable improvement over the beach in Haniá itself. In between, you'll find plenty of alternatives, though some of these are quite a walk from the bus stop. Further afield there are even finer beaches at Ayía Marína to the west, or Kalathás and Stavrós out on the Akrotíri peninsula, all of which can be reached by KTEL buses from the main station. HOT BEACHES Caribbean itineraries Eastern Caribbean Eastern Caribbean itineraries typically sail out of Florida or from one of the other home ports along the eastern seaboard, and may include visits to San Juan (Puerto Rico), the U.S. Virgin Islands (particularly St. Thomas), St. Martin, Grand Turk (in the Turks and Caicos Islands, east of the Bahamas), and Nassau or Freeport in the Bahamas—all very popular and busy ports of call, especially St. Thomas, Nassau, and San Juan. Western Caribbean Western Caribbean itineraries depart from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, New Orleans, and Galveston, and usually visit Grand Cayman, Jamaica (Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, or the new port of Historic Falmouth), and Cozumel or one of the other ports on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. This is a popular itinerary for many lines, so you’ll see throngs of other cruise passengers in each port—often three or four (or more) ships will be visiting at a time. Key West, Belize City, Grand Turk, and the Bay Islands of Honduras also pop up frequently on western Caribbean itineraries. Southern Caribbean Southern itineraries typically sail round-trip out of San Juan or sometimes out of Aruba or Barbados. They often overlap with eastern Caribbean itineraries and may visit St. Thomas, St. Martin, St. Lucia, Martinique, Antigua, and maybe Dominica, Guadeloupe, Aruba, and Grenada, or one of the other islands in the Grenadines.
